UP Initiative 
Open Door Theater is proud to be one of the charter members of the Massachusetts Cultural Council’s UP initiative for Universal Programming and Universal Design to increase the accessibility of all organizations in Massachusetts and beyond.
The initiative is a program of the Mass Cultural Council.
First Annual Award
This year marks the first annual award given to an organization that practices Universal Design and Accessibility. There were 28 organizations nominated this year, and a total of 5 finalists.
Open Door Theater is extremely proud to have been nominated as a finalist for this award in the company of these other excellent organizations:
- Museum of Fine Arts – Boston
- Museum of Science
- Wheelock Family Theater
- Boston Landmarks Orchestra
We are beyond proud to have been selected to receive the award.
