MAKEUP INFORMATION FOR Little Mermaid

ALL CAST:

THERE WILL BE NO FOOD CONTAINING PEANUTS, CITRUS, BANANA OR CHOCOLATE ALLOWED IN THE CAFETERIA/DRESSING ROOMS DURING THE PERFORMANCES!

This is very important, as we will be using makeup these foods could harm cast members with allergies

Foundation:

Open Door Provides your foundation and blush but you need to let me know right away if you have any skin allergies and I will have you purchase special base. I have tried to find products which will work onstage but may be purchased cheaply at CVS. If you have makeup from past performances or street makeup (which is clean and no more than 2 years old) which you wish to use, show them to me and we will decide if they match the color pallette of the show. There is also some donation money available if purchasing makeup is financially difficult for any actors.

Sponges:

You each must purchase sponges, wedges work best. Feel free to split a pack with a friend or family; 1 pack should last 2-3 actors the whole show.

Remover:

You each must purchase make up remover wipes. We will not be allowed to use the sinks and water to apply or remove makeup. Baby wipes work fine for all but the most delicate of skin.

Eyeliner:

You each must purchase an eyeliner and it must be labeled with masking tape with your name.  Brown for Males and girls, Black for women and principals. Complimentary color to your wig for Mersisters (Principals: choose Cover Girl Perfect Point Plus or Maybelline Unstoppable (sorry the extra cost means it will last the whole show). If you already have your own makeup, show it to me before the dress rehearsal for approval. Some seacreatures can avoid eyeliner. See me if you have an issue/question.

Lipstick:

All Youth actors (includes under 16), chefs and maids:

You must wear neutral or pink or peach colors. I usually suggest a brand color and CVS sells out and then you can’t find it anyways, so this year it is only a shade. Please try and get a matte color, avoid sparkles, shimmers, frosts or glossy. If you are unsure, I am happy to check it.

All Men includes principals, Windward, Leward, Chefs and all Sailors:

Wear shades of light brown, peach or neutral.

Triton, Triton’s Interpreters, Coral Kids, Seagulls

Wear coral or peach color

Princesses in the Court:

Choose pinks, reds, and plums, depending on the boldness of your costumes be garrish.

Sebastian, Flounder, Mersisters:

Color will depend on your costume/wig. See me.

Prince and Ariel: I will provide your lipstick.

Recap: You must purchase your own eyeliner, sponges, remover and lipstick, see above.
